Welcome to 2025! 🎉 You made it!
A new year often brings the pressure of big resolutions, but what if we did things differently this year? Instead of aiming for perfect, let’s aim for peaceful. Here are three simple, life-giving goals to set for yourself this year:
1. Speak to yourself like you would a friend.
Ever notice how kind you are when a friend is struggling? This year, when life feels hard, try replacing critical thoughts with encouraging truths. Imagine saying, “You are loved. You are not alone. You are doing the best you can with what God's given you.”
2. Schedule regular “mental health moments.”
Think of these as appointments for your soul. Whether it’s journaling for 10 minutes, reading the verse of the day on the Bible app, stepping outside for a moment of fresh air, or dancing to your favorite worship song, these small moments can make a big difference.
3. Celebrate tiny wins.
Got out of bed today? Made it through a tough conversation? Ate a healthy meal? Remember, progress is progress—no matter how small. Give yourself grace and celebrate those baby steps.
As you step into this year, remember our heart at Charis Center for Christian Counseling: We see you, and we’re cheering you on. Let’s make 2025 the year we embrace a grace-filled life—starting with the grace we give ourselves.

Here’s to a kinder, gentler year. 🌟
